We’ve been lucky enough to feature in a few lists alongside some very reputable contemporaries.
First up: The Ravechild/Snack Mag-affiliated podcast “Everybody Wants To Play The Hits” has just gone online with an episode documenting their hosts’ favourite releases of 2024. “Techno Viking” was heavily featured and we are frankly flattered to the point of getting a big old riddy courtesy of their incredibly complimentary comments.
“[Outblinker] don’t sound like a UK band” being right up there.
Thanks in particular to Iain and Faye for their ongoing support. As mentioned on the episode, if you want to grab a copy of the album in person, the excellent record store Some Great Reward is highly recommended.

Next up: SNACK Magazine itself included us in their top Scottish Singles of 2024. You’ll see us on there sandwished between some extremely talented people. So that was lovely. You can see the list here.
Last but certainly not least, The Herald Scotland saw fit to put us at #8 in their top 100 Scottish SIngles of 2024 which was… well… both unexpected and extremely flattering.
We’re on that list near our good friends in Civil Elegies and only a few places behind our frequent producer/mentor/karaoke partner Ben Power aka BLanck Mass who smashed it at #4 track of the year with “Bloodhound”.
Life is not about lists, but working as a DIY act can often mean slipping between the cracks of the industry. So when folks in publications and broadcasts like these take the time to not only listen but help spread the word of our music, it means an awful lot.
So thatnsk to all of them and thanks to everyone who has been following the band up until now.
We have a number of new pieces of music nearer completion and plan to release again in the near future.
And no, that’s honestly not the same “near future” that saw the album take 6 years… Xx
